Victoria Milstein spent years using her hands to express what her eyes couldn’t unsee. Milstein, a Jewish woman, says her mother taught her about the horrors of the Holocaust at a young age, but her knowledge went deeper about what happened to women when she participated in the March of the Living in 2018.

Cynthia Doyle heard women across the country talk about something Greensboro was missing: a community foundation. The idea stuck with her. Within days, she was meeting with civic leaders and asking a simple but momentous question: Should Greensboro have one? The answer was yes.

In February, Greensboro’s arts community gathered not simply to celebrate an artist, but to witness the beginning of a collaboration rooted in culture, history, and shared imagination.
