Creating Space for Connection: Highlights from CFGG’s 2026 Annual Meeting

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro welcomed donors, nonprofit partners, community leaders, and friends to the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts for its 2026 Annual Meeting, an annual luncheon celebrating the people and ideas shaping Greensboro’s future. Guests heard from internationally acclaimed artist Janet Echelman, whose keynote explored the power of public art, imagination, and civic identity. Drawing from her work around the world and Greensboro’s own Where We Met installation in LeBauer Park, Echelman offered a compelling perspective on how art can create connection, spark curiosity, and transform the way communities see themselves.

The luncheon also provided an opportunity to honor exceptional community leaders whose service continues to strengthen Greensboro. We proudly recognized Steve and Carlyn Bowden, inaugural recipients of the Nettie Coad and Linda Jones Community Impact Award; Adair Armfield, recipient of the Calvin A. Michaels Community Service Award; and Lauren and David Worth, recipients of the Thornton H. Brooks Leadership Award. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, board members, donors, and community partners whose support makes this work possible. Together, we continue to invest in ideas, opportunities, and partnerships that help Greensboro thrive.
