Each year, scholarships awarded through the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro open doors to opportunity, transforming dreams into reality for students across Guilford County. These funds do more than ease the financial burden—they affirm each recipient’s potential, resilience, and ambition. Behind every scholarship is a story of commitment: donors investing in the promise of future leaders and students determined to rise, achieve, and give back. From first-generation college students to those pursuing degrees in medicine, education, and the arts, these awards reflect a community’s belief in the power of education to change lives.
The Community Foundation proudly congratulates the 2025 scholarship recipients for their outstanding achievements and dedication. This year’s scholars represent diverse students with bold aspirations and bright futures. As they step forward into a new chapter, whether at colleges across North Carolina or prestigious institutions across the country, each recipient carries the support of a community that celebrates their success. The Foundation is honored to play a part in their journey and looks forward to the extraordinary impact they will have in the years ahead.

"I have seen many people, including my brother, have to take jobs during college in order to get by. This has put a lot of stress on those people and made their college experience more difficult and mentally draining. By having a scholarship this will reduce the financial burden that will be put on me while also allowing me to be able to be an established leader on campus. This scholarship will also be able to help me continue to achieve academic excellence."
Zachary Hall, Class of 2025
"This scholarship means the world to me because it has helped me become one step closer to being able to afford college. This scholarship means that someone on the Community Foundation team believed in me and my goals enough to help fund them. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to achieve great things!"
Celine Lulele Kongolo, Class of 2025
"These scholarships represent my deeply rooted passion for creating a difference. Women to Women has enabled me to honor Senator Kay Hagan’s life in the best way possible. My education will lead me towards a career in women’s health, where I will continue showcasing the values that she was dedicated to. The Herman and Earline Herbin Scholarship helps make it possible for me to pursue a higher education and bring my passion for helping others to life. It will help fuel my success in college, pushing me towards a future in healthcare as an obstetrician gynecologist. I am so grateful for these scholarships and all of the opportunities they have opened up for me."
Bisma Konwal, Class of 2025
"I am truly honored to receive the Jason Christopher James Memorial Scholarship. It holds special significance for me because it’s a tribute to a Grimsley student. I’m thrilled to be able to attend Cornell University in the fall with the help of this generous scholarship!"
Noah Levine, Grimsley High School, Class of 2025
"I am so grateful to have been awarded the Thomas and Bettie O'Briant Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship represents an opportunity to continue striving for excellence, and it motivated me to pursue my undergraduate degree in biology at UNC-Chapel Hill."
Aruba Manzoor, Class of 2025
"It means a lot to be selected as the recipient of this scholarship. It is a reflection that hard work pays off. This honor will help to guide me forward on my journey toward making a meaningful difference. Receiving this scholarship has boosted my confidence and helped to reduce the stress my family has to deal with when it comes to paying for school."
Giana Seay, Dudley High School, Class of 2025
"This scholarship meant so much to me. Being that it was one of the first scholarships I received, it made me want to work even harder knowing that my athletic and academic efforts were being noticed and recognized."
