Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Supporters,
Many of you have reached out to us about how best to support hurricane relief efforts. If you would like to give to and through a regional community foundation that serves specific counties and communities in western North Carolina, you have four options:
The North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF)
NCCF serves the entire state with a focus on rural North Carolina. Please click on this map of their 53 affiliate foundations to see which counties in western North Carolina they are providing relief to. To donate to NCCF’s relief efforts, please click here.
Community Foundation of Henderson County (CFHC)
If you would like your support to go to Hendersonville, the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) is working closely with them while they get their disaster relief fund established. In the meantime, please make your contribution to CFGG, and we will forward your donation to CFHC as soon as their fund is up and running. Check CFHC’s website for updates.
Polk County Community Foundation
The Polk County Community Foundation is dedicated to advancing philanthropy and improving the quality of life for all citizens in and around Polk County, North Carolina. They are distributing funds from our Emergency Relief fund to local organizations coordinating food and water distribution. If you would like to support Polk County, visit the polkccf website.
Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG)
CFGG is accepting donations to its own emergency fund for disbursement to the three community foundations serving western North Carolina (NCCF, CFWNC, CFHC). If you would like to give directly to and through CFGG, please click on this link. Under “Special Instructions,” you may indicate which of the three community foundations and specific county to which you would like to direct your donation.
