Building Stronger Neighborhoods

Supporting the people and projects that make us stronger

The Building Stronger Neighborhoods (BSN) program supports Greensboro neighborhoods as they join together to enhance our community’s quality of life.

BSN is supported by the Building Stronger Neighborhoods Coalition: Cemala Foundation, Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, Cone Health Foundation, and Greensboro Public Library.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

BSN empowers the residents of our community to bring their ideas to life and make a big impact through hyper-local projects that make an immediate impact on the quality of life here.

About Building Stronger Neighborhoods

Building Stronger Neighborhoods (BSN) offers grants to help neighborhood groups, groups working with established nonprofits, or neighborhood-based groups with limited financial resources who need that extra boost to get their project or program up and running in an effort to improve life in neighborhoods across our community.

The kinds of projects that BSN supports are as diverse as our community. They can include everything from leadership development to community-building activities to technical competency projects to wellness, health, and green projects or projects aimed at helping youth, children, and families.

Why is this initiative important to our community?

Quality of life begins at home—literally. If we can help improve circumstances, living conditions, educational or career opportunities on a street-by-street, neighborhood-by-neighborhood level, then everyone across greater Greensboro will feel the impact.

NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS INVOLVED

“Through the support of BSN, as a neighborhood, we became more aware of who our neighbors are and became closer to each other. Our meetings have made us more of a neighborhood – making it safer and friendlier. The activities and events supported by BSN have made our efforts successful and the neighborhood better.”
