Heritage Salon Launches the Heritage Salon Legacy Giving Circle
Heritage Salon, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to championing and amplifying Black museums, historic sites, historic homes, and Black history, announces the launch of the Heritage Salon Legacy Giving Circle (HSLGC), a women-led philanthropic collective designed to move the organization from advocacy to action.
“Philanthropy and history are woven into the fabric of my family,” said Wright-Greene. “My grandmother, Elnora Sampson, and my mother, Vivienner Grant, exposed me to history and taught me that giving is both a responsibility and a joy. Through Bethune Circle #1—founded by Ada M. Lee and connected to Mary McLeod Bethune—I witnessed firsthand how collective generosity can transform lives. The Heritage Salon Legacy Giving Circle continues that legacy, ensuring Black museums, historic homes, and historic sites receive the care and investment they deserve.”

The Heritage Salon Legacy Giving Circle is committed to supporting the vitality of Black museums, historic homes, and historic sites, prioritizing small to mid-sized institutions with budgets under $250,000—and generally under $500,000. Guided by values of preservation, integrity, excellence, relational connection, and responsibility, the Giving Circle pools collective resources to protect Black history and ensure these organizations remain vibrant for generations to come. Its work is grounded in trust-based philanthropy, an approach that honors the expertise of the organizations it supports, reimagines traditional grantmaking, and centers care, respect, and partnership in every decision. The Giving Circle is seeking at least 25 members, each contributing a minimum of $400 annually, with additional giving levels available. Members meet virtually two to three times a year, making participation accessible and manageable. The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro administers all funds, adding credibility, transparency, and trusted stewardship to the initiative.
