The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro is particularly interested in funding organizations whose programs and projects bolster cultural vibrancy, programs and projects which bring together diverse, multi-generational audiences across lines of difference.

Yes! The Community Foundation encourages organizations to collaborate on projects which aim to bolster cultural vibrancy, economic mobility, or health and wellness within the respective funding locations.
Organizations can apply for up to $25,000 during the 2025 grant cycle. However, organizations should also consider “tipping” when applying for funding, as the Community Foundation will not fund a request that is more than 30% of an organization’s operational budget. Learn more about tipping here.

Organizations can submit a fiscal year end statement in place of an audit.
Grant applications must be submitted electronically through the Online Grant Portal.

If you are unsure of whether your organization has an Online Grant Portal account, please reach out to grants@cfgg.org before creating a new account. If there is an existing account, Community Foundation staff can add you as a user. If there is not an existing account, you can create a new account via the Online Grant Portal.

The grant cycle will open on June 1st and close on July 15th. Diligence will be conducted from mid-July to early August. Organizations will be selected for a site visit on a case-by-case basis and notified in early to mid-August. Program staff and committee members attend site visits. The respective grantmaking committee will make a recommendation to the Community Foundation’s board at the September board meeting. Decisions will be shared in early September. Checks will be cut by January 31, 2026.
Funding recommendations are made by the Community Foundation’s Grants Committee, Housing Committee, or Weill Fund Advisory Committee before going to the full Community Foundation board for approval. Committees are composed of board members and community leaders.

The Professional Advisors Committee (PAC) of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) are a volunteer group of expert professional advisors helping their clients realize their charitable giving goals by partnering with the foundation.
Realizing that older adults need a larger screen than the standard phone, Dr. Merritt and the Organization to Provide Equal Access to Technology, or OPEAT, stepped in to bridge the digital divide. The program invites anyone over the age of 50 to come in and learn computer skills at all levels. Some need to start with learning how to turn the computer on.
