PROGRAM AREAS

In 2024, the Community Foundation will focus on providing grants to nonprofits that demonstrate outcomes and impact in the following areas:

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

At the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, we recognize that health and wellness is a foundational component of any thriving community. With that, we recognize that residents must have the opportunity to age with dignity and have access to services which foster health and wellness for the whole person.

CULTURAL VIBRANCY

A culturally vibrant Greensboro is a community where all residents have access to diverse cultural, educational, and natural resources. Our region’s vibrant culture is built upon inclusive community dialogue and civic engagement in its various forms.

ECONOMIC MOBILITY

For residents to become economically mobile, they must have a strong economic foundation.

Guilford Nonprofit Consortium

The Guilford Nonprofit Consortium is a collaborative of nonprofit organizations, large and small, that fosters mutual assistance and support in reaching our shared goals by providing opportunities for education, collaboration, networking, and celebration. The Community Foundation is a funder and fiscal home for the Consortium.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

Community groups are at the core of much of our work, embodying the collective spirit and shared vision for Greensboro. They serve as platforms for individuals to come together, connect, and collaborate toward common goals. These groups, whether charitable organizations or grassroots movements, play a pivotal role in strengthening  culture, or driving social change, our community grants are a testament to our commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant, and equitable community. Through strategic grantmaking, we empower organizations and individuals to make a real and lasting impact in the lives of our residents, ensuring that our community continues to thrive and flourish.

BUILDING STRONGER NEIGHBORHOODS

Building Stronger Neighborhoods (BSN) offers grants to help neighborhood groups, groups working with established nonprofits, or neighborhood-based groups with limited financial resources who need that extra boost to get their project or program up and running in an effort to improve life in neighborhoods across our community.

Greensboro agency helps female veterans transition to civilian life

They serve just like men in every branch of the U.S. military. They face the same battles and the same challenges. But when it’s time to come home, female veterans often find they face a different set of obstacles as a civilian, and they’re hurdles traditional veterans’ groups aren’t always equipped to deal with.
