Greensboro, NC – The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro has named Jennifer Sterling as director of marketing and communications, effective February 1. She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic branding, communications, public events and activities in order to promote Foundation’s programs, services and community impact
“I’m excited to be part of the Community Foundation as it serves the greater Greensboro area. The quality and scope of its work is truly impressive and I’m eager to share that story with a larger audience.” Sterling said.
Sterling comes to the Foundation from RSU Public Television (RSU TV) in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area where she served as the manager of content and community engagement for the independent station. In that position, she was responsible for all programming for two 24 hour channels, as well as for all outreach and educational activities.
Sterling was also the executive producer and producer for numerous broadcast projects, winning two Telly awards and a Heartland Emmy ® nomination. Prior to RSU TV, she had 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and First Night St. Petersburg (FL).
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sterling is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and received a Master’s degree from Oklahoma State University.
