apply for funding

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro was founded on the principle that our community can accomplish more when we work together. The Foundation helps individuals, families, businesses, and organizations achieve their charitable giving and fundholders are actively involved in deciding how gifts are used and grants are made.

In addition, the Foundation makes grants to support some of the community’s most pressing needs from special funds set up to benefit a particular field of interest. The Foundation also plays an important leadership role to address critical issues facing our community.

Community Grants Program

Community Grants are one-time grants given to help nonprofits meet community needs and opportunities by building their capacity to reach their missions. Grants usually range in size from a few hundred dollars up to $10,000, and tend to average $3,000-$5,000. Grants are available to nonprofits in the greater Greensboro area.

Women to Women Fund

Women to Women is Greensboro’s first permanent grantmaking endowment to engage women in impacting the lives of our community’s women and their families. By establishing and growing this permanent funding resource, we will together ensure that Greensboro recognizes and addresses women’s issue now and into the future.

Improving Lives by Investing in Nonprofits

The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro believes philanthropy can play an important role in improving the quality of life by helping to build an inclusive, caring, and vibrant community. Through donor gifts that are unrestricted or targeted to a specific field of interest, The Community Foundation is able to support grants to dozens of community organizations and initiatives each year that are helping us all make a difference.
