DESCRIPTION:The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro is a proud sponsor of the 2026 Gala: “Standing Up for Democracy” and Defending Civil and Human Rights. \nThe International Civil Rights Center Museum will mark the 66th Anniversary of the successful conclusion of the Greensboro civil rights sit-ins. The event will be held on July 18\, 2026\, at Joseph F. Koury Convention Center. This annual event commemorates the creative and strategic struggle to ensure that America upholds its constitutional promises and obligations of full and equal citizenship – and personhood. \nSix significant contributors to civil and human rights will be honored during the Civil Rights Museum’s annual commemorative event. \nDoors open at 3 p.m.\, and the event will take place from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
