In honor of the memory of his parents, Leonard and Tobee Kaplan, who were so committed to our community, Randall Kaplan has established the Manning-Kaplan Community Enrichment Fund with a pledge to contribute all profits he may earn from his investment in the Elm Street Hotel Project and attendant parking deck in downtown Greensboro.
“We are excited about this unique approach to supporting the needs of the community and hope that it sets an example for others to consider. It demonstrates the flexibility the Community Foundation has in helping families meet their charitable goals through creative approaches to philanthropy,” said Walker Sanders, president of CFGG. “The Community Foundation has partnered with the Kaplan family in support of community projects for many years and looks forward to this new chapter.”
The donations will be used to support a range of charitable programs, including economic and workforce development, healthcare, education, arts, poverty alleviation and social services in the Central Piedmont region of North Carolina and elsewhere.
