Michelle A. Lewis is the Chief Executive Officer of Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine, Incorporated (TAPM). With a mission to provide quality healthcare to the community with compassion and respect, TAPM is the only Federally Qualified Health Center in Guilford County and provides access to healthcare services regardless of an individual’s ability to pay. TAPM is the medical home to more than 16,000 residents in Guilford County from all walks of life and social economic statuses.
Michelle is known for her servant-leadership style, philanthropy and advocacy. Her advocacy stretches from promoting affordable healthcare to addressing social drivers of health such as homelessness, housing, transportation, food insecurity, physical and emotional instability, and job insecurity. Michelle’s passion for the underserved of Guilford County stems back as far as her healthcare career of over thirty years.
Michelle states, “TAPM’s success of surviving to thriving, is not about any one person, and neither is any major accomplishment in life. It’s about the TEAM.” While Michelle is active in her community through numerous boards and civic organizations, she enjoys being a wife, mother, grandmother, mentor, friend and listening ear the most.
Michelle is honored to receive the Game Changer Award, and shares this recognition with the TAPM TEAM, Board of Directors, Staff and Patients; for without them, TAPM’s mission could not be fulfilled. She also shares this recognition with her husband, children, family and church family that continue to be the inspiration for her passion.
