Dr. Suresh Chandra is the former dean of the School of Engineering at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. He brings his skill for analysis and problem solving to all of his volunteer endeavors. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Shepherd’s Center of Greensboro, a non-profit, interfaith organization that helps older adults pursue independent and active lives. He was instrumental in efforts to establish the STEM Early College at NC A&T —a cooperative project of A&T and Guilford County Schools. Since 2010, Suresh has been working to promote contacts and exchange programs between UNC and Indian universities. He has served as a visiting professor at the newly-established Indian Institute of Technology in Ropar, India, and as a scholar-in-residence at the Indian Institute of Technology in Gandhinagar, India. Suresh is a former member of the North Carolina Awards Committee and is currently serving on the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology and Innovation.
A long-time member of the Triad Hindu Temple-Hindu Society of North Carolina, Suresh has been actively engaged in promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding throughout the Triad.
