Promoting Philanthropy in Alamance County
The Alamance Foundation, established in 1991, is a geographic affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.
The Foundation fulfills its Mission by:
- Encouraging private giving for the public good
- Building and maintaining a permanent endowment to respond to changing community needs
- Providing a flexible tax-exempt vehicle for donors with varied charitable interests and abilities to give.
The Alamance Foundation is in its 15th year and continues to grow. We have 67 funds, and our total assets are reaching $7 million.
The Board has launched a campaign to fulfill the second phase of the Mission by establishing a new endowment fund to support its community grantmaking program for Alamance County. A challenge grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro was made to begin this campaign.
The Alamance Foundation was established to provide not only a vehicle for donors but also a permanent resource to address unforeseen community needs. As board chair, Jerry Tolley, said;”As our community grows we need an endowment to help us address a wide range of community issues that we currently do not have the capacity to meet. This is a great need now and will be in the future.”
Your gift to the Alamance Foundation Community Endowment will support the need of this special place now, and for many years to come.
