GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro is pleased to announce that Phelps Sprinkle has joined the Foundation as its Vice President for Development & Donor Services. Sprinkle is responsible for fund development, philanthropic services, and special initiatives to expand permanent assets for the benefit of our community. He has a particular focus to engage and assist donors in fulfilling their charitable objectives and legacies.
“Greater Greensboro is rich in diversity with a history of people coming together for the greater good,” says Sprinkle. “I am honored to be part of celebrating and continuing this tradition through my work at the Community Foundation.”
Most recently, Sprinkle was Director of Business Development for Peacehaven Community Farm and before that, Executive Vice President of Strategic Engagement for Easter Seals UCP. In 1995, he co-founded Topics Education Group — a strategic communications company based in Charlotte, North Carolina — and was Chief Executive Officer of the company for 17 years. Sprinkle, a Greensboro native, graduated from Walter Hines Page High School and Davidson College. He, his wife Kate, and their three children live in Greensboro. Due to his level of service to his alma mater and the communities in which he has lived, Sprinkle received the Davidson College Alumni Service Award in 2013.
Sprinkle replaces Gordon Soenksen who is retiring from The Community Foundation on February 28th.
