Sadie Blue with Renaissance Community Coop

From her experience as a nutrition professional for Rockingham County Schools, Sadie was particularly concerned about the lack of opportunities to purchase fresh and affordable food in Northeast Greensboro. She played a major role in establishing Renaissance Community Co-operative, owned by over 1000 members of the community, which opened in October, 2016, ending an 18-year food desert in the area.

Sadie has been described as “generous to a fault, an amazing cook and an outstanding community leader whose faith is inspiring to all who come into contact with her.”
