Greensboro fire and police lose weight to raise money
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Personnel from the city’s police and fire departments have launched Greensboro’s Police/Fire Biggest Winner Challenge, a fundraiser in which the contestants lose weight while raising money for charity.

Community Foundation representative receives national award
GREENSBORO, N.C. – A longtime representative of The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro – and one of Greensboro’s most devoted residents – has been recognized by the Greensboro Partnership with one of its highest honors.
Learn to Swim Fund established
The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro announced today (Dec. 14) that a fund has been established to underwrite the costs to implement a “Learn to Swim” program at the proposed Greensboro Aquatic Center. The newly created fund has received initial commitments totaling $100,000.
Annual Luncheon date rescheduled
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro is pleased to announce it has rescheduled its Annual Luncheon featuring the Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor. The event will take place at Noon on Monday, March 8, 2010, at The Empire Room in downtown Greensboro.

The Community Foundation awards 2009 scholarships
The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro administers more than 60 scholarships which are awarded each year to outstanding students, both locally and across the country. Scholarships offer fundholders a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of youth and young adults who wish to continue their education. Likewise, the Alamance Foundation similarly awards scholarships.
