Community Partnerships

The Community Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our community for present and future generations. To fulfill this mission, we actively seek partnerships with local corporations, government agencies, other private foundations and a variety of nonprofit community groups to leverage our resources for maximum impact.

We have five distinct priorities for our community partnerships:

  • Housing
  • Education
  • Community revitalization
  • Diversity and race relations
  • Regionalism initiatives involving neighboring counties

Current Community Partnerships

  • Action Greensboro

This collaboration of local nonprofits funds a variety of Greensboro revitalization projects, including a new Center City Greenway.

  • Building Stronger Neighborhoods Coalition

We’ve joined with the Greensboro Public Library and other local foundations to help Greensboro neighborhoods enhance their quality of life. Download our grant guidelines and application form.

  • Guilford Community AIDS Partnership

This coalition of service providers, funders, faith-based groups, corporations and community volunteers supports HIV/AIDS-related projects countywide.

  • Guilford County Council of PTAs SPICE Program

SPICE projects are designed to help moms and dads improve their parenting skills and become more involved in their child’s learning.

  • Guilford Education Alliance

The Alliance pursues policies and initiatives that promote education and help each of us reach our potential. One example: Donor Choose – a website matching donors with teachers who have special classroom needs.

  • Guilford Nonprofit Consortium

The Consortium seeks to build a more effective nonprofit sector through education and resource-sharing. More than 100 local nonprofits are members.

  • Hispanics in Philanthropy

This national project builds the organizational capacity of Latino-led nonprofits. North Carolina is the largest project site participating. Sixteen N.C. funders pool dollars that are matched by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation and national organizations.

  • IMPACT Greensboro

Public and private institutions collaborate to support this unique leadership program that demonstrates how ordinary citizens from different backgrounds can forge authentic and meaningful relationships, find shared values and develop solutions to day-to-day community issues. • Piedmont Unity Project

We’ve teamed with the Guilford Green Foundation to fund a two-year initiative designed to increase awareness of gay and lesbian issues in the local community.

  • Teen Grantmaking Council

We’ve partnered with Leading to Change Inc. to form an organization that allows young people to gain leadership experience, conduct research and make grants that address community issues. Download a membership application.
